- For over 25 years, Carey has been CEO of Whitecastle Investments Limited, a family owned investment company. For the past 20+ years Carey’s focus has been primarily with Whitecap Venture Partners, originally the venture arm of Whitecastle and now a limited partnership with Carey, Blaine Hobson and Joe Catalfamo as managers of the general partnership.
- Carey has worked extensively with Whitecap’s portfolio companies (listed in the Portfolio section of this site), and he has been on the Board of many of them, including: Broadband Networks, PC Docs Group, iMagicTV, Loran International, Protenergy and others.
- “Enjoying who we work with, particularly the teams of entrepreneurs we invest in, is key to being productive,” he notes. “Sharing not only a desire to prosper financially, but a goal of bettering society in the process, is key to an alignment of interest with the folks at Whitecap.”
- Carey has long been active with many charitable organizations and remains so to this day, including various board and committee positions at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care, United Way, Kids Help Phone and others.
- Carey holds a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and a LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School.
