McDonnell Adels, P.C. law acquired several large clients and found themselves in need of additional office space. The surplus space requirement would double their existing 10,000 square foot offices. Their obstacle was that their current lease did not expire for another 18 months.
Recognizing the need for third party, professional representation, the firm hired Ross Selinger, president of Selinger Enterprises, Inc. After performing a comprehensive needs analysis, Ross quickly surmised that McDonnell Adels would need to be presented alternative locations that afforded them the location and amenities they desired as well as negotiating with their current landlord for an early release from their present office space. Ross completed an extensive market analysis, including a detailed Request for Proposal process (RFP). During this process, one location became the primary choice. Simultaneously, Ross continues negotiating with McDonnell Adels’ current landlord. By working both the market and the current landlord, Ross was able to create significant leverage for his client.
